A powerful portrait of rebellion, Bol tells of death row convict Zainab (Malick) who, sentenced to be hanged for murder, decides to tell her story to a TV reporter. One of several daughters in a family forced to move from Delhi to Lahore, Zainab and her siblings protect their transgender sister from their deeply religious father Hakim (Sehbai) who, desperate for a son, mistreats her. And with financial difficulties becoming more acute Hakim makes a decision that will shatter his family forever… Set in 1948 and largely presented in flashback, Bol is another daring and complex picture from multi award-winning writer/director/producer Shoaib (Khuda Kay Liye) Mansoor – a gripping story that became the highest grossing film in Pakistan cinema history on its release in 2011.
